Advanced Life Support Course
Accredited 2-day course!
Register for the Advanced Life Support Course and learn some vital patient care skills. This course is consistent with the guidelines produced by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), which is Australia's national representative on the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and is also consistent with the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses Limited (ACCCN Ltd) Advanced Life Support Curriculum Guide.
During the workshop, the participants actually get to utilise the equipment, perform the acts and manage the arrest scenarios themselves.
Workshop Content:
- Common causes of cardiac arrest
- Assessment of the compromised person
- Review basic life support
- Advanced airway management (competency assessment item)
- Recognising and managing life-threatening arrhythmias
- Defibrillation (competency assessment item)
- Emergency Drugs
- Transcutaneous (external) pacing
- Cardiac arrest algorithms
- Megacode management - practice of arrest scenarios
- Assessment of megacode management
- Theoretical examination
